The Acquisition of the Asplundh Cone

The Asplundh cone is actually only a part of a much larger story, The Trail of the Big Stick. It so happened that during my school's Fall Break weekend, some of my friends and I were stuck on campus, which would not have been too bad if not for the fact that the cafeteria was closed and we were forced to fend for ourselves, food wise. So, Saturday night, myself, Chris, and Angie decided to walk to Coventry to eat at a resteraunt called Tommy's. It's about a two mile walk to Coventry, and going there you have to walk up a rather large hill. After climbing this hill there is a long, flat, straight stretch of road, and as we travelled down this road, we encountered a stick laying on the grass between the road and the sidewalk. I made a mental note of this and we continued on our way. At Tommy's, we had a good dinner (I had an excellent meat pie, with lamb and Meunster cheese and dough, boy was it good) and left. On our way back, we again came across the stick. I, for some reason, decided that we would take this stick back to campus, as a joke. So, Chris and I each put one end of the stick on our shoulders, and the three of us walked back to campus, through Little Italy, across several streets, past a group of Case students, past a University Circle patrol car, to the Plaza. Along the way, we noticed the cone sitting uselessly in a parking lot. We took the cone and placed it over one end of the sitck. When we finally returned to campus, we layed the stick out in the middle of the plaza and put the cone near it as if to warn people. Here's the punchline of the story. When I say "stick" I'm talking about something 25-30ft long that probably weighed between 150 and 200 lbs. I hope to soon have a picture of the Big Stick. There's also a Part Two to this story that's even funnier.
